Week 2- SEO and SEM

Marketing can be done in many forms!

The two different search engine types are optimization and marketing.  With SEM, a company/brand is paying the search engine, such as Google or Amazon, for increased visibility in search results.  When in use, the piece of advertisement or website will automatically be brought to the top of the page where it is more likely to be clicked.  While this does come at a cost, the instant increase in potential views is always beneficial.  Not only can these increase sales, but also brand awareness and activity on site.  On the other hand, SEO or search engine optimization is growing views and interactions based earned or organic search results.  This depends heavily on what else is in result from the user's search, the content that was produced and the interactions that have already taken place in order to move up in search ranks.

I am working on building my social media community in order to help individuals get started in the cryptocurrency space and to learn more about the future of digital assets with the blockchain technology.  Cryptolookout is still in the early stages of development, but we have already taken the initiative to focus in on SEO marketing.

As the crypto space is very new, we believe that there is still lots of room to move up in the search ranks organically.  This will consist of putting out mass amounts of content across our many social platforms in order to spread our knowledge and get our community name known in the space.  On top of that, we choose a community name that keeps the members involved as those who join are encouraged to participate across their networks to #lookout for the other members in the community.  The members of the community are considered the Lookouts, which we plan to incentivise for posting valid crypto content and education or knowledge to the other members!

Another reason why we choose to focus on SEO over SEM is simply that it is free.  With being a college student working to be fully independent, the money budget is tight! Gaining interaction with sweat equity is probably the most time consuming but most satisfying as you see the true growth from the effort you put in!

The SEO focus will keep me honest on my hustle as I'm working to finish the website, get on a solid content posting schedule, and finally begin the creation and integration of our own lookout currency!  More on this coming very soon!
